The basic CentralAlert alerting system is a great alerting system at a reasonable price. The basic system includes a bedside alarm clock, strobe light, bed shaker, jack for hooking up phone, and wireless doorbell. With this basic system you can be alerted to your alarm clock, phone and doorbell by three of your senses at the same time—seeing (flashing light), hearing (alerting sound) and touch/feel (bed shaking). You will not sleep through all three of these alerting modes! They will get your attention! Furthermore, you can add to this basic system at any time as your needs expand.

The Serene Innovations CA-CX Cell Phone Ringer/Flasher is one cool device if you are hard of hearing and are “married” to your smart phone. It alerts you to incoming cell phone, video phone, landline, Skype and FaceTime calls as well as text messages. It not only alerts you to your cell phone on the CA-CX unit itself, but it also transmits an alerting signal to any Central Alert receivers within range such as the main Central Alert units, CA-RX remotes and CA-PX pagers. This unit flashes bright lights and sounds a loud tone when it senses the vibration on almost any cell phone.

Remote Transmitters
There are a number of different transmitters that can alert you to different events. You can have as many different kinds of transmitters as you want, and as many of each as you think necessary (within reason—see above).
For example, you may want 2 or 3 doorbell transmitters so you can cover each door in your house. The transmitters are wireless, so you don’t have to worry about tearing the house apart hooking wires up all over the place. However, since the transmitters run off batteries, you do need to have a regular program of replacing the batteries every so often so the transmitters don’t “die” at an importune time.
When a transmitter activates, it sends out a signal that is received by any CentralAlert bedside clock receiver, remote receiver or pager receiver within range. And if you use the Cell Phone Transmitter/Receiver as a stand-alone unit, the doorbell will send it a signal too.
Doorbells
You have three basic choices with doorbells.
- You can replace your existing doorbell with a wireless push-button doorbell.
- You can connect a doorbell transmitter into your existing “house” doorbell system.
- You can use a door knocker that responds to a person knocking on your door rather than using a doorbell at all.

The CentralAlert Door Chime Alert transmitter can be used in 3 ways.
- Attach it to your existing door chimes and when the chimes vibrate, the Door Sensor will feel the vibration and set off the doorbell alert.

Weather Alert Transmitter (Model HC-CANOAA) $39.95
The Weather Alert transmitter plugs into the alerting output jack of compatible NOAA weather radios (for example, this Weather Alert Radio). When a weather alert is received for your area, the radio activates, which in turn actives the Weather Alert transmitter. The red LED on the face of the transmitter turns on, and it sends an alerting signal to any CentralAlert receiver (except CA-CX Cell Phone Receiver) within range.
Easy to install—simply plug an 1/8″ (3.5 mm) audio patch cord into the Weather Alert transmitter and plug the other end into the Alert Output jack on the back of a compatible NOAA weather radio.- When activated, the CentralAlert strobe light flashes, the 520 Hz square wave audible sound begins “beeping” and the bed shaker vibrates the bed.
