A man asked,
I have hearing aids from Sam’s Club. How do I know if they are going to work with a loop system?
Good question. The simple answer is, “If your hearing aids have properly set up manual t-coils in them, they will work with any loop system.”
Unfortunately, you can’t tell whether a given hearing aid has a t-coil just by looking at it. That is why you need to ask your dispenser whether your hearing aids have t-coils in them or not. If they do, you also need to ask whether they are automatic t-coils or manual t-coils. For listening to a loop system you need manual t-coils. (Some hearing aids can set the t-coils to either auto or manual, so be sure to ask him to set them for manual operation.
If you have t-coils that can be programmed to be manual, then your dispenser needs to set them up properly and program them into a specific memory for you. Once he has done that, you will be ready to listen via any loop system.
