Don’t Let Ototoxic Drugs Flip Your World Upside Down—Here’s What You Need to Know About These Ear-Damaging Drugs

Presented by Neil Bauman, Ph.D.

Few people realize that many of the medications they take may be insidiously robbing them of their hearing and balance. The shocking truth is that prescription drugs damage ears far more than anyone dreams. In fact, ototoxic drugs (drugs that damage your ears) are two words you seldom, if ever, hear or learn about until it is too late and some drug or chemical has robbed you of your hearing or balance and totally flipped your world upside down. This is because the ear-damaging side effects from these drugs are generally insidious, grossly under-reported and often minimized when they do occur.

In his presentation, Dr. Neil will explain what ototoxic drugs are, and the many side effects such drugs can have on your ears ranging from hearing loss and tinnitus to ataxia and oscillopsia.

He will explain 20 factors that put your ears at higher risk to drug damage, and will emphasize the number one symptom you must not ignore—for it often warns you of impending ear damage. Even more importantly, he will then reveal 12 things you can do to reduce this risk in order to protect your remaining precious hearing and balance as much as possible.

Finally, Dr. Neil will disclose little-known, but vitally important, information such as why conventional hearing tests seldom catch drug induced hearing loss until it is too late, and how the synergistic effects of certain drugs (and chemicals) and noise can team up to really damage your ears.

Dr. Neil is the author of the 798 page book, “Ototoxic Drugs Exposed—Prescription Drugs and Other Chemicals That Can (And Do) Damage Our Ears.” This book, now in its third edition, contains information on more than 1,060 ear-damaging prescription drugs and chemicals.

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life [which also includes perfect hearing] through Jesus Christ our Lord." [Romans 6:23]

"But know this, in the last days perilous times will come" [2 Timothy 3:1]. "For there will be famines, pestilences, and [severe] earthquakes in various places" [Matthew 24:7], "distress of nations, the sea and the waves roaring"—tsunamis, hurricanes—Luke 21:25, but this is good news if you have put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, for "when these things begin to happen, lift up your heads [and rejoice] because your redemption draws near" [Luke 21:28].
