Most hard of hearing people speechread (lip-read) to a greater or lesser extent. This wonderful slide show by Cynthia Dixon entitled, “I Hear With My Eyes” explains why we need to stare at people when they are talking. At the same time, it graphically shows hearing people what they need to do so we can speechread them. This slide show is informative, true to life, lighthearted and even hilarious at times.
Check out this cool speechreading slide show.

Dr. Neil,
Thanks so much for writing about my slide show! Love your very informative blog. Your explanation of recruitment is the clearest I’ve read anywhere. I’m going to write a story soon and link to it.
Thanks!
