(VERY annoying!) A cause for the SSHL was never found, although my grandmother experienced the same thing some years ago. I've been doing the Epley and Brandt maneuvers, cutting down on caffeine, trying a diuretic - the usual things recommended. I also had a few sessions with a chiropractor.
