Most hard of hearing people speechread (lip-read) to a greater or lesser extent. This wonderful slide show by Cynthia Dixon entitled, “I Hear With My Eyes” (you click through it at your own pace) explains why we need to stare at people when they are talking. At the same time, it graphically shows hearing people what they need to do so we can speechread them. This slide show is informative, true to life, lighthearted and even hilarious at times.
